Our Company

The Waters Senior Living is a leading developer, owner, and operator of senior living communities in Minnesota.  The company was co-founded in 1998 by two Twin Cities-based leaders, Lynn Carlson Schell and Howard Groff.  With more than 60 years of combined experience in senior living operations and real estate development between them, they decided to create an organization that provides high quality living environments with exceptional wellness-focused care for seniors. 

 Since 1998, the company has successfully grown to manage 11 senior living properties primarily based in the Twin Cities metro area, which encompass over 1,000 senior living units.  Several of these communities are owned by Senior Care Communities, Inc., a Minnesota-based non-profit organization.

 In 2013, The Waters Senior Living will begin construction on three new fully owned and operated communities in Edina, Minneapolis, and Plymouth, Minnesota.   Several more are under development. As The Waters continues to expand, we stay true to the core ideals on which we were founded: providing high quality living environments with exceptional wellness-focused care for seniors.
